The Woman behind the Name

Mother; wife; daughter; sister; businesswoman; community ambassador; fitness fanatic; passionate supporter of good causes and founder of Hit Higher Highs. What does Naomi do in her spare time you say?

Naomi is passionate about giving back to the community and has been an active member of the local Surf Life Saving Club, Triathlon Club, organizing charity bike rides and local triathlons.

In 2003, Naomi won the Pride of Workmanship award and is an active Tourism Bowen board member. She is an ‘Eat Well, Be Active’ ambassador for local community group Health Promotion Connections and was on their committee for two years. In addition to running Hit Higher Highs, Naomi helps her husband in their IT business. She is a member of local professional development group Whitsunday Women in Business.

Naomi’s passion for all things health and fitness began at a very young age. She loves competition and over the years there have been many race wins in the region for running and triathlons including:

* The North Queensland marathon (Townsville), half marathons, 10km and 5km races, varying distances of triathlons and duathlons

* Pioneer Catchment Challenge

* Eungella Queen of the Mountain

* “Tour de Cure” Participant – 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. To date Naomi has raised over $90,000.00 for the cause funding research projects focused on finding a cure for cancer, support projects for those suffering with cancer and prevention projects that are focused on community education and awareness. * Participant in the 2013 “Smile for Smiddy” ride, 1,600km from Brisbane to Townsville raising $3,000.00 for Mater Cancer Research.

* In 2011 in conjunction with her friend William Dawson and Triathlon Queensland, Naomi established and drove the growth of the North Queensland Triathlon Series, compelling the local communities to sit up and take a look into the world of triathlon. Naomi’s work has generated increasing numbers of participants in competition in NQ over the past two years with races being run in Mackay, Airlie Beach, Hamilton Island, Bowen, Townsville and Cairns.

Since 1998 Naomi has assisted her husband in a well-known IT business in the Bowen area. In conjunction with this, she completed her Certificate III and IV in Business and has been paramount in driving business growth throughout the community.

Naomi’s passion for fitness doesn’t stop with heart rate elevation. She loves giving her mind a workout and ensuring that she is able to provide her clients with the most concise, structured and up-to-date information possible. Her academic achievements include:

A Personal Touch

Naomi has been married to Owen since 2001. In 2002 she became a mother to her 1st child, a beautiful baby girl but tragically lost the baby in a car accident. In 2004 Naomi was blessed with a baby boy. In 2011 after years of unsuccessful IVF and being told that she would not conceive another child, Naomi fell pregnant naturally at the peak of her training. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl.

Hit Higher Highs combines Naomi’s love of sport, keeping fit, her family and her passion for helping people. She is well known in her local community as ‘that lady who runs and rides crazy long distances’. Her compassion, drive, knowledge and commitment are second to none.
